LEARN MORE ABOUT HOW WE’VE GROWN

Community at the Core is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving as an impactful catalyst for the agricultural revitalization and economic growth of coal communities in decline throughout Appalachia. We are creating educational programs and training that will facilitate job placements, support community partners, and open a wealth of financial opportunities for agripreneurs in this deserving region.

Through AgriTech education and hands-on training, CATC will create thriving agriculture epicenters rich with agripreneurs and a passionate workforce all acting together to deeply root a revitalized economy in their reinvigorated communities.

Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear and Congressman Hal Rogers presented 11 Eastern Kentucky projects with funding totaling nearly $25 million from the Abandoned Mine Lands Economic Revitalization (AMLER) Program during the annual Shaping Our Appalachian Region (SOAR) Summit in Pikeville, Ky.

Community at the Core was awarded $6.6 million to support its program to build a cold storage and sorting facility for apples in Appalachia. In total, from state-supported funding and the generosity of members of the community just like you, Community at the Core has been fortunate to receive incredible support to further our mission to impact the lives of many.

While we’ve received grants to help construct our cold storage facility, there’s still more work to do — and we need your help. From sponsoring tree plantings and orchard acres to supporting our overall operations, your donation can help us grow!
